This time of year is so difficult to make the front of your home look nice.  The trees are still brown and you can’t plant flowers for fear of freezing.  Instead, buy potted plants that can fit inside your outdoor planters and just put them out on warmer days and for photos and showings.  These plants below were purchased at Home Depot and Costco last week.

March 2021 Staging Tip of the Month

If you’re considering selling soon and have wood floors, check under rugs to see if you have any sun darkening around them.  If you do, remove the rugs to allow the sun to start evening out the floors.  Soft wood like maple and cherry can change colors very quickly, while harder woods like oak and walnut can take much longer.  By the time you sell, hopefully the difference is not as pronounced so it’s not an issue for buyers

While stagers often suggest removing rugs to show off wood floors or keep buyers from thinking you’re hiding stains on the carpet, there are times when rugs are needed to add softness, anchor a room, or create an inviting conversational area.  The following before and after photos show how rugs can transform a room especially where there were tile floors in a living space.

Empty bedrooms don’t evoke any emotional connection to a home when buyers are touring it.  You can easily use airmattresses to create a bed and then add a few nightstands, lamps, art and bedding to finish off the space.  All of the beds below are airmattresses!
