October 2016 Staging Tip of the Month

This house had been completely remodeled with grey walls and white trim throughout.  The only room not done in this style was the front porch….the first impression room for the whole house.  Making it consistent with the rest of the house was imperative!  This house sold in just a few days on the market!

April 2016 Featured Before & After

This is from the same house in the last post.  Before the red accent paint and draperies were a little jarring for buyers.  The custom wallpaper mural was too personal.  And the traditional rug with the traditional furniture was a little overwhelming for a more contemporary buyer.

The mural was removed, the red got painted neutral, the red draperies removed and the traditional rug replaced with a more contemporary one. With this room right inside the front door, this is a much better first impression!
And a few more after pictures of the rest of the house:

March 2016 Featured Before and After

This is from the same condo as the kitchen in the last post.  White walls, dark oak trim and tired carpeting did not make this condo stand out above any of the others in the building.  We closed off the opening to the kitchen, added booth seating since this condo lacked storage, painted everything, added new flooring, lighting and beautiful furniture.

March 2016 Staging Tip of the Month

An older galley style kitchen with minimal storage can often be difficult to envision any other way.
This one got a beautiful makeover!  We didn’t replace cabinets….but instead added a pantry where an opening was and put new cabinet fronts so they would all coordinate.  New flooring, appliances, countertops and backsplash make this kitchen a wow statement!

December 2015 Featured Before & After

We did a consultation for this home that had been on the market for a very long time.  To help the home appeal to the less traditional buyer, we had them paint the walls a warm grey which showed off the white trim and mantle. Instead of differentiating the traditional inset details, we had them paint the whole wall the same color.  We also eliminated the extra rug and some art and accessories to show off the beautiful wood floor and give a simplified feeling.  It sold right away!

December 2015 Staging Tip of the Month

When we are helping people get their homes ready for sale, they often don’t have the extra funds to add new furniture pieces that would help the home look it’s best.  Reusing existing furniture is sometimes the only option, and with this tip, dated furniture can actually look great!   All credit goes to one of my favorite bloggers: Confessions of a Serial Do-It-Yourselfer.
