When selling your home, one of the most important things to do is to make rooms open and bright to make them feel as big as possible.

Here, the homeowner repainted the walls a lighter nuetral and replaced wall sconces prior to us bringing in some rental furniture that gave the room an inviting feeling.

When you live in your home, you sometimes use rooms in a non-traditional way, but for selling you always need to present a room in a way that will capture the largest percentage of potential buyers. Here, the living room right inside the front door was being used as a game room. To stage it, we used a piano and tables of the homeowners and just brought in a sofa, chair and a few accessories.

We always recommend furniture layouts that highlight the amenities of the home. Before, the furniture layout virtually ignored the beautiful fireplace that was the centerpiece of the home. We brought in rental furniture to emphasize the fireplace and create a secondary sitting area and game table area.

In the last year, desirable interior colors have made a big shift from warm to cool neutrals. When deciding on interior wall colors, consider using a more gray shade of any color.

This before and after shows how the scale of furniture can really affect how spacious a room feels. We replaced the sectional with a smaller scale loveseat and chair to show off the rooms space and wood floors.

In this home, we added barstools to draw attention to the breakfast bar, replaced the dining chairs to make the dining area a little more elegant, and added art and accessories to the mantle and surrounding bookshelves to draw buyers attention to the beautiful focal point of the room!

While there are a lot of bold colors in design right now, it is still very important to keep colors softer and more neutral for selling. In this before and after set, you can see how colors that are too bold may not appeal to every buyer. After a long time on the market, this home finally sold quickly after it was neutralized.
